Using a touring bike on the fluid trainer

I've got a fitness bike that I've been riding on my trainer, but I may sell that bike. I'm wondering if riding a touring bike on a trainer is a good idea.

I do it all the time, just be sure to set it up properly. Be sure the wheel base is set so the resistance unit is correct. and so on.
