I'm talking about absolute hammering -- like, 90+% of Max HR.

Some elite riders seem to do it, too.

Does this mean the seat is too high or too far back?

Or is it just a time trial thing?

Wow. Hadn't thought about this. Next time I hammer I will see. I always thought being back in the saddle gave me more leverage and power. Don't know what I subconciously do though. Will get back to ya.

Simply forward momentum from pushing through your sprints. It's most apparent when cyclists are doing an all out sprint.
