    Cyclo-H.I.T Workouts

    Anybody try these? Worth the money? If they are basically L5/6/7 sessions of 2-8 min intervals at some % of FTP, I already have a lot of these.

    Thanks...but was looking at specific feedback to the Graeme Street's Cyclo-HIT program.

    Believe he promotes sessions/doses that are 30 and 60 mins in length. I wanted to get a feel of what these workouts could be to see if any different from the workouts that I've built from various sources (2x20 @FTP, SST, 3-8 min intervals at VO2 max, etc)...if it seems like something different, I'm willing to give it a try.

    The name of the promoter doesn't matter, just the structure of the workout. HIIT intervals with lengths of from 30" to 4' have been studied, and there are results to be read, if you're interested in doing so.

    Got it, read the results, understand the benefits...was looking to see if anybody has specifically done these Graeme Street specific HIIT workouts w/ his program.

    I bought them two weeks ago. They are OK for a quick 30 minute workout. I have used H.I.T #1: The Cardio Leg Ripper! and H.I.T #5: Climbing God Super-Strength!

    I like to start with one of the CycloHit video and then do one of the Ride Fit series.

    One thing I don't like about them is the video resolution, it's only 480x360 and in a big TV it doesn't look as sharp as it should be.

    I got them and love 'em. In fact, I ordered the entire Cyclo 90 base plan, which has the HIT sessions and 5 Core / Yoga /Resistance workouts and a 90 day plan (similar to p90x) that tells you what workout to do and when. I'm two weeks into the plan and am stronger than ever - no lie - and the workout helped eliminate years of nagging shoulder and knee problems - which I now realize were due to muscle imbalance. I can't wait to try it out this Spring when I come off but I am extremely impressed so far.

    Let me put it this way - my FTP wattage (as measured by the CTS Field test) jumped from 285 watts to 320 in 6 weeks. By the time I was done with the program - I was around 305. I also got the in-season plan and had a similar wattage (320 and 315) based on two back to back CTS Field tests with 4 weeks of training. The programs are very intense but you can modulate them (up or down) accordingly.

    For this winter - I am trying the Sufferfest Novice plan - just for a change of pace. I plan to post a detailed review with before and after wattages of both plans for comparative purposes when i'm done.

    I think that Graham does a great job of coaching you through the workouts - and knows just when to have you push. I would recommend them whole-heatedly, especially if you have not done any form of weight or core training - you'll come out a much stronger rider.

    If you were disciplined enough to get a good base on your own - but wanted to sharpen the blades for an event / race - then go with the in-season plan (you get both MTB and Road specific training plans and videos.

    I got the Cyclo90 base program and think it's fantastic. For me, the bike, core, yoga, provide a much better approach than I've had in the past. Power up, endurance up, weight down. I'm in week 4 of phaseII now and will start the 90 day in season program after week 6 recovery.
