Yikes !!..Some of those ingredients look nasty, I just can't call that food.

Carbonfiberboy 01-16-14 06:14 PM

Ingredients seem fine to me except there's way too much fat for bike food.

Tell you what: next time you're in a grocery store, buy 2 packages of Fig Newmans or Fig Newtons if that's all they have. When you open the second package, you put them back on the grocery list. That works like a charm. Or you can buy a dozen Clif bars, etc., and save the wrapper when you eat one. Then back home, put that flavor back on the grocery list. That also works well.

Just keep it quiet. Wheat kills you know. Clif bars don't have wheat, so maybe you're safer with them.

What ... specifically?

That choice would be an easy one for me ... banana.

Peanuts aren't a good choice for me.

Oatmeal raisin or oatmeal chocolate chip cookies are good too.

Nah. The only thing shady IMO is the food coloring.

I'd personally eat the banana.

I don't do HFCS or soy anything if at all possible.
If I hit a wall and I have to have some nutrition or I'm gonna have to lie down, I'll eat whatever you hand me. But if I'm packing for a ride, I'd have the banana.

The 'Kit's Organic' Clif bars are probably their best products, IMO.

A little sliced up banana on those peanut butter crackers would be good.

Carbonfiberboy 01-17-14 12:53 PM

Interestingly, if one gives a banana to a series of chimps, some eat the peel and throw the nana away, some eat the whole thing, and some, a minority, throw the peel away and eat the nana. FWIW.

Is this like a whole series? Banana or ....
