Your Vices and Tell Us About Them

Ok here is an interesting thread. Tell us all your vices you consume too much of. whether it is too much pop/soda, or anything. Tell us why it slows you down or benefits you in your own mind. This could be interesting.

I spend way too much time on cycling forums.

I agree on that one too

More seriously, wine on the weekends. Helps me unwind from the work week. I don't know how much doing so holds my performance/training back, but I know that it does. Spin class on Sunday morning is somewhat painful after a Saturday with copious amounts of wine.

beer and whiskey. I tend to overindulge 1-2 times per month, which leads to another day or two of poor nutrition and a day wasted on the couch.
Not such a big factor during the winter, but it definitely takes away during nicer months.

Bar food and Beer.

Sometimes the beer leads to more food.. usually of the fast variety.

I have a nasty coke habit, in the soft drink sense of the term. I try to limit it to during/ right after rides, when my body is able to use the sugar up quickly. Coke has water, salt, caffeine, and sugar - all of these can be useful when one is riding. When one is sitting on the couch, not so much.

All my vices are unfortunately illegal. In my country. Not in Colorado. At least one of them

lol.
does that really have a negative effect on you, except maybe eating too much junk food after?

Dudelsack 01-22-14 10:00 AM

Sweets. Chocolate. Coke. Pizza. Harlequin romance novels.

BamaBulldawg 01-22-14 11:07 AM

Electronic cigarette. Probably not good for me but I honestly can't tell a difference in my lungs.

expatbrit 01-22-14 05:58 PM

Flying for work.

It leads to junk food, and beer in an airport bar.

Like now, in San Antonio. Beer. Mmm. Beer.

(OK. Beer, and too much time on cycling and motorbike forums in the airport bar)

Grandmothers. Schnapps. Grandmothers+Schnapps.

Trsnrtr 01-26-14 09:31 AM

Diet soda and way too much coffee.

moppeddler 01-26-14 03:11 PM

I definitely drink more than I should, which can sometimes lead to some poor food choices.

sprince 01-26-14 06:42 PM

Smoking, beer, pizza.

Mmm, pizza.

VeloNewbie 01-28-14 01:13 PM

Anything sweet. Doughnuts, chocolate, cookies, cake, ice cream, yogurt, etc. Im working on cutting alot of it out. Im in decent shape but I can lose 10lbs. Im at 158ish and I want to get down to the high 140s and try to stay there.

*Edit* Although they are considered sweet, I dont drink soft drinks of any kind.

VeloNewbie 01-28-14 01:20 PM

Forgot to add: I unfortunately live in Atlanta right now but I am a proud Yankee(Northerner) through and through. BUT! BUT! That KRISPY KREME!!!!! Oh man that KRISPY KREME!!! I didn't have those were im from. Those doughnuts should be illegal! They are THAT good to me.

DataJunkie 01-28-14 03:45 PM

Sweets. Nothing too exciting despite living in Colorado.

lindyfd 01-28-14 09:26 PM

Marlboro lights and Pepsi. Kicked the alcohol and weed.

Drinking got me smoking again cause everything makes sense after 15 beers. I'll just have one cigarette...maybe another...that was four years ago. Now I'm really struggling with it.

As for Pepsi, that's my new "beer". Friday night, a few sodas, WOOO!!! Look out!
Foul sugary temptress. So good yet so bad.

TexMac 02-02-14 08:41 PM

Berbecue beef, barbecue pork and more barbecue. That's the problem with living in Texas, there is barbecue every corner of the street.

catonec 02-02-14 09:22 PM

everything above except cigarettes/ecigs or.... grandmothers?
