All pizza diet

Janssen, 38, claims that he has eaten pizza for nearly every meal over the past 25 years. He said he rarely eats breakfast, subsisting on mainly coffee in the morning, and then downs a whole pizza for lunch and another one for dinner, day after day.
...
He does not drink or smoke, and exercises regularly by riding his bike long distances.
"I understand that this is a disgusting diet,'' he said. "You expect me to be overweight and have no energy, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. Whenever I see a new doctor, I tell him, 'I have a terrible diet, and I only eat pizza.' With three different doctors, they have done bloodwork and my cholesterol levels and blood pressure are great, and I am fit and energetic.
"I'm sure when I'm 60 I'll drop dead of a heart attack, but right now I am fine."

He's kind of stupid if you ask me.
"To be healthy I eat raisin bran once per week"
Between that and saying he only spends 100 per week on pizza, like its a good thing. You can easily eat real organic food for 100 per week, especially if you're single.
That being said, he looks good for 38.

Pizza includes all of the major food groups and doesn't have sugar. Choose your toppings wisely and you have a healthy meal. Especially if you make it yourself! Just avoid Domino's and Little Caesars--I can feel the grease running down my throat as soon as I bike into one of those.

pizza CAN be very healthy -- it depends on the ingredients. It does not have to be loaded down with cheese, processed meats and oil or be based on a refined carb.

But he said he hates veggies, and often ate frozen pizzas. So he's basically just slamming cheese pizza all day long.

They say his freezer is loaded with pizzas. He doesn't give a damn about eating healthy. Humans can survive on many different food sources, but that doesn't mean they thrive on it. The other thing is that good genetics can cover a myriad of other failings.

Pizza is a whole lot less unhealthy than a lot of disgusting stuff people put in their bodies while eating intermittent decent meals and pretending they are doing something healthy. But then maybe I'm genetically predisposed to take up for pizza. As much as I hate to admit it, I have to agree that it's genes and an otherwise healthy lifestyle that has kept "Pizza Guy" from dropping dead. Mmmm, pizza.

I just find it disgusting that - with the myriad of food choices available to us in the Western world - that someone would limit themselves to such a specific diet. I enjoy a wide variety of foods, not all of them considered the most healthy, but I make sure I do not overdo it with the unhealthy choices. Asian, Hispanic, Mediterranean, regional comfort foods - all of these give me great enjoyment... To limit your culinary experiences is a shame and a waste.

I found this line critical:
exercises regularly by riding his bike long distances.
This suggests that a less than ideal diet is offset by frequent biking. I wonder if we worry too much about what we are eating, seeing as we burn off those calories pretty soon anyway.

I'm willing to bet at least half of the population of the US eats no healthier than this guy. That said, it's near total lack of variety in his diet that sounds the most unappealing to me.

He should lighten up, break training and treat himself every now and then. Maybe have a stromboli, a calzone or something nice and healthy from Taco Bell.

I think he said he eats one 14" pizza per day. Spread over a whole day that's not such unreasonable carbs, fat, sugar etc. and probably less calories than most americans consume. So I don't think eating the pizza is such a big problem -- the problem is all the things that he's not eating.
