Fever and Weight Loss
Fellow cyclists,
I am a lurker from the Vintage/Classic and Tri forums. You guys have interesting things to say often and I take some of the advice here to heart. (The Breakfast thread currently has my eye.)
Anyway, I am home today from work for the second day in a row. General fever in the 100F range spiking to 102 on occasion. Presently I am vertical and semi-lucid, but in my fog earlier, I was wondering if my metabolism was increased due solely to my fever. If so, maybe there's a silver-lining to this bug I have. Weight loss could be accelerated beyond the simple loss of appetite.
What say you?
Tyson

Your body is working hard to fight off the fever so there may be a temporary spike in metabolism but who wants to be sick long enough for it to cause you to lose enough weight to make any significant difference. Drink plenty of fluids, take two aspirin and post a follow up in the morning
