glass of wine before event = 48 hours
Just a questions. Would having one glass of red wine with a pasta dinner 48 hours before a big bike event , reduce performance. on my race days.
Doing mohican 100. end of Month
100 mile mt bike event.
Just wondering if ONE glass of wine would be a bad thing? dehydration etc?
Or should i just go with milk instead? thanks

That little amount of alcohol would be out of your system in an hour +/- a little bit depending on your height, weight, and how much you ate along with the glass of wine.
I wouldn't drink it within an hour of going on a big ride but a day or two would be fine.

No.
As long as you aren't putting down two bottles the night before, I think you'll be alright.

Don't get p***-drunk the night before. You will not enjoy the ride next day.
Unless you are on a team, a pro, or a serious amateur, relax and enjoy a good meal and drink, hopefully with your friends and family.

I've slammed up to 18 beers the day before starting at around 7 in the morning followed by cake, pie donuts skittles and bunch of other junk.
I call it "poor mans doping" for performance.. and none of it shows up on the tests either.
