Typical BF. OP asks a question and everything goes haywire.
It should be quite obvious to anyone who's ridden much that the size and shape of a rider's calves have doodly to do with how well they climb, which is kind of the whole point of the sport. In fact, most folks with smaller calves climb faster. What's needed is conditioning, not size or some particular shape.
If the OP isn't concerned about cycling after all, and just wants bigger calves, then cycling is a very peculiar way to seek that goal. Donkey raises would be more applicable.

Nice to know I'm not the only **** looking at other people's legs. Interestingly enough, I asked the guys I was riding with yesterday about their cycling style. The one with leaner, less defined legs, was a push/pull rider. The other with more defined calves was a kick/ scrape rider.
