The limited range of motion is of more concern than the bruising. It may indicate that the joint or surrounding connective tissue has been injured. Does the joint "give" - have no strength in certain directions? You should get it checked out by your MD, or better yet an orthopedic specialist.

I partially tore my left pectoral where it attaches to the upper arm in early March. I had an enormous bruise on my lower left bicep because that's where the blood was collecting - people thought I tore my bi instead haha. I finally regained full mobility just recently, but there's still no strength, just the weight of my arm is more than enough. I'm stretching and doing mobility exercises every day.

Certainly avoid putting weight on the joint until your doc clears it. I'm sure she'll want you to get the mobility back first.
