Carmichael Training Systems

I was thinking about subscribing to the Carmichael training program that they have at their website, I've been reading all their books and they've helped a lot, I'm riding about 150-200 miles per week as base miles and am getting ready to start racing. I was thinking bout getting an Active series or Advanced series subscription to help with the improvement of my training. Does anyone have any experience with this program through their site?

If you bought Food for Fitness I think you get a free month trial - but it's the classic. From what I read in the agreement it sounds like you have 30 days to cancel the training before being roped into the minimum six months.

I tried the classic and didn't go beyond the trial period. For what it offered I've found a spreadsheet and Friel's Training Bible to be on par and much cheaper. I do like the CTS Dvds and the camps look cool. Just for me, the classic program didn't work out.

I did the original $50/month that was cut. I wasn't impressed and did not improve in my speed. Don't know what was going on, talked to coach, they just keep doing the same few week cycle. Would not do it again.

I used Charmichael's books to get me off the ground when I first started riding about a year ago. I took the free month trial info from The Ultimate Ride and signed up for the Classic package to see what CTS was like. I extended with the Classic package at the end of my first month and am definitely satisfied with it at this point. The monthly price is very reasonable for what I am getting. I have started training with power and will likely be going an Advanced package at some point. Results and experiences vary of course, but even without an assigned coach, I am continuing to make good progress. The program guidance really works for me.

The guys that I know who race and use CTS are pretty happy with their CTS coaching. I have learned a lot from the CTS coaches even with the Classic package where you don't have an assigned coach. I use the CTS forums when I have questions and I have gotten to know some of the other CTS riders in my area whom are pretty quick to help me as well. I like the contact and that has made the difference for me between CTS and just doing my own schedules.
