Transition

Completing my first tri at the end of August. Just wondering if there is any way to setup my station to make my transition between events go easier. Any little tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Go to you-tube and you'll find lot's of great information for a newby! Everything from transition setup to taking off a wet suit on the run.

They have it right. YouTube! certainly is a very good resource for learning what to do/when and even sometimes why. Once you do watch a few of the videos go and practice your transitions. The transitions are just two more events that you will have through the day of your tri - Swim - T1 - bike - T2 - run then finally beer!

This isn't really advice, because you've already gotten that with the suggestion to search youtube, but I'll simply tell you that no matter how smooth your transition may go (hopefully it will go smoothly) you'll learn things that only experience can teach you. Not everyone wants or uses the same equipment/clothing/etc. So for now getting the really important stuff right is your major goal. After you experience a few real transitions, and nail down your needs/wants based on your race experience, you can refine it and make it even better. Welcome to triathlon and best of luck!

Lots of good advice already. I'll just add that you want to come up with step-by-step plans for T1 and T2 and then practice in your yard/driveway, or local park. The more times you practice before the race, the easier it will be to do it smoothly and quickly on race day. Then, don't worry, because as others have said, you will learn something new every race you experience. Have fun!
