Nothing worse than bloody nipples. They chafe after awhile. I always tape mine up before a marathon.

Nipple chafing is a terrible thing.

Certainly is. Those little plasters in a multi-pack have no other use, anyway!

One word: Clydesdale
Those nipguards look like rebranded corn plasters (cheap as chips from any pharmacy).

Band-aids. Never tried bodyglide, but it seems riskier than band-aids, especially when I start doing 20-mile runs in winter. I mean, it might work, but gambling with my nipples is NOT my favorite game.

I used none.. I think it sounded like you were all males..well for us woman, I know that I wear 2 sports bra when running a marathon. Keep them nice and tight, no movement, no friction..
I do used the old vasoline on my feet and that works for me.. OK, was that too much details? hehe

How about some photos, eh?
Yeah, loose top will rub your nipples bloody and raw on the runs. Moleskin on the nipples works better than a band-aid. Used to put it on my feet on the areas that would blister when I played soccer. I've found a thin, tight cycling jersey works pretty well for running, wicks away the perspiration as well.

I've got a picture of myself crossing the line at the 2001 Cal. Int'l Marathon. I was wearing a white shirt. My left bandaid fell off around mile 15 and it looked like I'd been shot in the heart.

A must for me when I used to run long distance. However, just about anything sticky will work to eliminate the shirt friction. I used little squares of duct tape because I had some handy. YMMV depending on your amount of body hair.

Yeah, but as DannoXYZ pointed out, pictures would make it better... probably in the laugh-your-arse-off sense rather than the ohhhh-baby sense - but an improvement nonetheless.

I routinely use transparent medical tape (band-aid brand). It's cheap, super sticky, nearly invisible if you take your shirt off - FYI blonduathlongrl and H2OChick, you don't have to deal with band-aid packaging, and it comes off easily with soap and water, but not sweat.

This is getting WAAAYY out there.....very funny! I've never tried bodyglide. Usually I see (never had the problem myself) chaffed nipples from wearing cotton shirts. I will agree it looks painful and the person looks like a lactating vampire. Someone mentioned duct tape...now that is scary!
