I really have to put out a plug for the Sugoi tri shorts. I've now had two significant crashes in which the skin on my hip has been shredded but my shorts still look brand new! I'm not sure of the exact name but the shorts have a matte surface. I raced in them for the first time today (race report separate thread) and am completely pleased with everything about them.
I guess it would be nice if they'd protect my skin too, but at least I did not have to shell out $40 two extra times!
