Cervelo P2C:Best deal in Brooklyn.....where??
I'm seriously thinking now about getting the cervelo p2c for the season (blue+black) and I was wondering if anybody in the new york area would know where I can get the best deal.
There is racycles in brooklyn but I've heard their service and pricing sucks.
What is the current word on racycles?
If not then where should I go? Opinions on the p2c?
I was thinking about quintana roo but right now the p2c is drawing me near.

The P2C at R&A is just as expensive as it is in SBR, which i think is one of the only other cervelo stores in the city (i may be TOTALLY wrong there). I'm currently shopping at R&A for a QR tri bike, and they've been pretty helpful to me, so I'd say there service is ok.

And also how was the final price.
Was there any help after the sale for whatever reason?

I recently got a Bianchi from a bike shop in West Chester County online. I live in Colorado and they were very helpful since there were some insues with the whole thing. I just checked and they carry Cervelo and it might be worth a call since I am going to guess that just about everyone will have a similar price on the bike. The name of the shop is Altheus and they are located in Rye, NY.

If you want a good deal on a bike go see a lady by the name of Patrice at Bay Ridge Bikes www.bayridgebikes.com. She always got me the best prices for whatever I wanted, I don't think she is a Cervelo dealer but you may be able to convince her to order it for you. I got My QR Seduza from her...and the price can't be beaten.

And Markpaul I think I went into bayridge once to take a look at some road bikes a couple years back. If my mind switches back to quintana roo (which it might) then I will probably swing on by.
Right now though dreaming about that blue and black P2C from Cervelo. hmmm I wonder how that would look with a pair of ZIPP 404 wheels.

I know R and A gets kicked around a lot, especially after the time out article about worst customer service in any category in town.
But i just bought a Soloist Team from them and to be honest i thought they were great - and i am new to it all - so had plenty of stupid questions...
They did a basic fitting (pro fit is an additional $75, which I intend to go back for) and took time with me (though i had announced i intended to buy a bike that day when i got there, so that probably helped). I brought a friend along who is rather accomplished as a cyclist as my ringer and he felt the R and A guys steered me right as well.
I've also been back twice - once to have the rims taped and also for an overall check-up after about 300 miles just because i don't feel comfortable doing it myself. in both cases they went right to work and took care of me.
I know others who have had a rough go - but I'd gladly buy from them again.

My recent experience at R&A was less than favorable as well (about 3 weeks ago). They said they were short two staff on the day I went, and on weekends I think they get slammed with everyone from serious cyclists to commuters to casual ride-in-the-park-on-on-my-cruiser types, so if you do plan on going to R&A, try not to go on a weekend if you can help it. I went to plunk down a chunk of change on shoes, helmet, shorts, jerseys, pedals, and was competing for service with people who had run-of-the-mill flats on beaters who wanted a mechanic to fix it for them, or tires with dry-rot.
And if you're in the market to buy a complete bike, they'll definitely pay more attention to you.
One of the sales people there said they're even pretty busy on weekdays, but Monday tends to be the quietest day, so if you have the flexibility to go on Monday, give it a shot.
I wasn't thrilled with the sales service I received, but I can't speak to how they treat you if you buy a bike from them.

So the jury is still out on them.
On a side note though forget about that dumb P2C. All hail the new Specialized 2008 Transition!!!

People I know who have bought from RA have nightmare stories.
Sold wrong size frame, great service when the buy the bike, then totally ignored after...
and SBR...I went there once and was completely ignored, even though there were sales people standing around.
I finally just started helping myself to the shoes...

SBR multisports on 57th? Yeah I've been there before too. I was looking for some rudy project glasses and decided to check the place out. High end tri specific shop. Kinda stuck up for my tastes though. Its like they try to make you think your in Lord N Taylor or something.....kinda creepy actually. But if your looking for all the REALLY high end frames for tri or tt then thats the place to go. But they will most probably charge you the utmost full price for the stuff. There is this girl though...curly haired blonde....kinda cute. It might give me a reason to want to revisit.
