Tri frame set up as road bike?

Do people do this? If so, how does it work out for normal road riding?

Can do, yeah.

Use a seatpost with some offset and slide the seat back a fair bit.

Or don't bother and just put drop bars on it - you'll just have a very forward position which might tire your arms out and degrade handling somewhat, but probably not terribly much.

Seems a waste of a Tri frame though.
