08 TT Bikes

Anyone seen the new P3 Carbon for 08? I hear the prices are coming down again this year.

Also, does anyone have any reviews on the Orbea Ordu ... another sweet bike. I'm on the fence and looking to upgrade for the 08 season. Its never to early to start that wish list

I'm wondering the same thing about the P3. I guess Cervelo will announce pretty soon. I hope!

I heard some good things today. I don't about P3, but I heard P2C is coming down to $2,500. And Kuota is introducing a new top liner above Kalibur called the Queen K, don't know the price. They are also coming out with a K-Factor SL. The Felt S22 is supposed to be all carbon for '08, and Specialized will have an all carbon entry as well, all around that $2,500 number. Crowded, but good for the consumer. Of course, that all may be LBS bull slinging. I hope it's true though, that's right where I'm looking.

It's true about the Specialized Transition Carbon. The low end version will be $2500. This bike is supposed to be really sweet, and some are saying it'll be the most aero bike in the market. We'll see if it measures to the P3.

Kuota K-Factor SL - 2008

Brand new to the Kuota line-up, the K-Factor SL brings an unparelled level of performance to the table at an astonishingly affordable price. Don't let the name fool you; this is not a rework of the original K-Factor, but rather a completely original lightweight aerodynamic beast.

Features:

High Modulus Monocoque Carbon Fiber Construction
Monocoque Full-Carbon Fork
Integrated Aero Seat Post
Adjustable Horizontal Drop out
Seat Tube Angle: 76 degrees (78 degrees achievable)
Frameset includes Frame, Fork, Headset and Aero Seatpost.

I see you've stolen my wallpaper!

I've been stashing away the pennies for a K-factor (you can now get one complete for around $2100), but when I saw the SL I decided I needed a bigger piggie bank. I think it is going for around 3k right now, but IMO it's one of the sharpest I've seen in awhile. Since it will (hopefully) be my first true tri bike, I like the fact that you can go with a 76 degree seat angle, or bump up to 78. I need something zippy for my first IM, right?

The Jamis T1 and T2 also look cool. The T1 is MSRP @ $6300 and T2 @ $3300

In my opinion with the P2 Carbon at $2500, Specialized's Comp at $2500 and the Trek 9.0 being introduced at $2700 all other bike shopping would be superfluos. If indeed the S22 stays similar in price and gets a carbon frame it will be on my list above. They cover all ranges of geomety from aggresive to relaxed respectively. They all boast wind tunnel design(not just wind tunnel tested after it was designed). The Jamis, K-Factor SL, Quintana Roo and all the like will have little to offer over those two bikes and none are boasting a price tag as small.

Saw the new P3... the color scheme is hideous! Black/red/silver. The new P2C is nice though... just a better configuration of the white/red/blk combo

If the new K-Factor is only as good as my 2007, that is pretty sweet. I picked one up when they started going for 2100. My piggie bank is now focused on so aero wheels to go with it.

P3c

Yea I see your point ... it won't be the most attractive bike for 08 that's for sure. They could probably paint in purple and it would still fly off the shelves.

Has anyone thought of the 2008 Felt b2. It is a bit dearer, but has a great deal of goodies. The upgrades bring along side the DA for a lot less. The reviews out of the states are increadable. I am a bit bias as I have just purchased one which will be in the country in 3 weeks. The catalog will be out soon

I was just quoted a 54cm 2007 P3 Carbon for $3875.00 and am seriously considering it. Even if the 08' prices drop this is still a deal. Unless there are huge differences between the 07 & 08 besides the hideous paint.

According to Gerard Vroomen over at slowtwitch.com prices won't come down next year. He says the bike will come with a "slightly better kit," and we know what that means: Brakes that suck "slightly" less.
