How many of you ride triathlon bikes as road bikes.
I'm not talking about group rides, criterium, road race, or winding mountain decents.
Lately, I have found myself selecting my dedicated triathlon bike for my road workouts. Since I have tweaked and adjusted my tri bike, I find the aero position to be very comfortable and can lock into it for many miles. As long as I have open road or a good bike lane, I gravitate to the aero position as soon as I can. |
my p2c sits on the trainer 90% of the time. i rarely put more than a 40 mile ride on it
my fuji sl1 gets most of the work... but i just put some pf cgt's on my felt.. we'll see how i like them.. maybe the good ole felt will get some more action.. |
I only ride my P3 in races really. On the trainer once a week over the winter to stay used to it. I race atleast once a week on it starting in may, so i get enough time in that saddle.
Other then that, the road bike is my go to. |
I have 2 road bikes, but neither one is really a tri bike.

I ride my tri bike about 80-90% of the time. The only exceptions are:
Group Rides (Road Bike) - I haven't done many of these lately as my training for my first IM has been pretty much solo. Hill Workouts (Road Bike) - I have some hills close where I can spend miles and miles on 5-12% grades. Short/Fun Rides & Trainer (Fixie) - Just something to mix things up. Also used for rides to the store or to the pool. |
Now and then just for practice as my TT bike handles so differently than my road bike, but aside from going to/from local TT's, I don't generally ride by TT bike outside of races. It's just not as fun a ride.
