Bontrager speed bottle as repair kit holder?

Hello. I was wondering if anyone on this Forum may have tried to use a Bontrager speed bottle as a road kit holder? I've a P2SL I'm trying to finish off and I need a place to store stuff thats reasonably aero. The bottle looks like the top opens wide allowing you to stuff things (cell phone, pump, tube, irons, etc) into it which would be perfect. Does anyone have one of these bottles and could you comment on its cargo carrying utility? Thanks.

It would work...but where are you going to put your water? I have a P2SL as well.

I've got a PodiumQuest bottle on the aerobars. It hold 50oz and has quick fill fill ports on top. Neat bottle but the trailing edge is just a cut off like a splitting wedge, and the top is a rather convoluted (figure it's still a net gain aerodynamically but they could have done better). I figure it will be enough to get me through the long course. The bike is new though, and I'm new to tri so I've still got a lot of bugs to work out of the system. My original attempt for the repair kit was a BentoBox (helps smooth the flow of air coming off the stem), but their wasn't enough room to clear the back end of the aerobars (also holding my race computer) and the stem angle made it awkward.

fwiw, I've used a water bottle to store my repair kit but I used one of the cages on my x-lab (behind the seat). I'm sure your way would work too.

+1
I have also used a bento box if I need more space for water.
