About to make my first tri bike purchase

I am about to pull the trigger on my first tri bike. I am going to be buying a new 07 Cervelo Dual with Dura Ace. I am pretty excited. I was just wanting some feedback on this model from those who have ridden it.

I will be getting it professional fit once I have it assembled.

Although I am pretty set on the Cervelo Dual, I have found a special on the new Cervelo P2SL with Dura Ace for about $250 more than the Dual.

Is there a big difference between these 2 bikes?

$250 and a notched out seatpost. How much is that notched out seat post worth to you?

Without seeing the total specs, but assuming that they have same wheelset and cockpit, there really isn't much of a difference.

Getting this from inside out sports? That is a crazy great deal for a DA Dual, wish they had it when i got mine from them.

I have a Dual and love it.
This space for rent, reasonable rates.

I had the same choice a couple of years ago and my shop steered me toward the P2 SL (no...not because it was more money...they gave me a great deal). There's nothing wrong with the Dual but I think the P2 is just a bit better...I think Cervelo stopped making the Dual.

I think you were worried about the Dual's fit in a 58 cm, correct. Do they have your size in the P2?

they do have it in the p2sl, but now I have found another bike i am considering.

its the 07 Kuota K-Factor. It is all carbon, for about the same price as the p2sl. ($1650) it comes with dura ace rear, 105 front.

i talked with the guy at www.bikesportsmichigan.com , and he said that a carbon frame would be a smoother ride, especially for a bigger guy like me (6'4'' and 240lbs)

I know carbon has gotten really strong but I'm not sure it's right for a 240 pounder. Also, Cervelo has done a much better job at their aerodynamics than Kuota...at least that's what I keep reading. Then again, Norman seems to do OK on one.

I would still go with the Cervelo over the K-Factor, even considering the Kuota is carbon. Even Cervelo's aluminum bikes easily rival lower end carbon frames.
