Newbie@Triathlon: Carbon Rear-End vs. Spring Loaded Seat Post

What would you suggest for a bike (my first road bike) that would best enable me to finish my first full Ironman Triathlon?

Basically, I am considering…

Spring-loaded seat post vs. frame with carbon rear end; and/or a “touring” bike.

How much easier would finishing be with the additional lightness (and shock absorption) of the bike with the carbon rear-end and fork, when compared to a bike with a spring-loaded seat post and a carbon fork?

Any thoughts, comments, and considerations would be greatly appreciated.

I realy do not see the need for a spring loaded seat post.

The suspension post just adds weight. The frame with carbon stays and fork would be good. I went with a steel bike and I am tree-mendously happy.
