first tri -abdominal cramps

I completed my first tri this past saturday (oly distance 2:53, 9:40 spent in transition).

I'm tired and pretty sore, but more or less expected as much. What I did not expect was the severe abdominal cramping on mile 4 of the run. Worse is that these cramp stayed with me until sunday around dinner time.

Has anyone experienced abdominal cramping after a tri? I googled around and found several different theories but am always interested in hearing from those of you who have done it before.

Thanks,

mark

In my first tri, my abdomen was absolutely killing me during the run too, to the point where I had to walk the last 3 miles. This continued for the rest of the day, but I think it had to do with what I had eaten.
