Heart Rate Drop Outs with Suunto Memory Belt

I purchased the Suunto "Smart" Belt about six months ago so I could use it while training in the pool. In the beginning, it worked great; however, I've noticed during recent weeks I will have huge drop outs in data. This happens most often during swimming and cycling especially when I'm on the aero bars.

I've changed the battery and tightened the chest strap to try to resolve the problem, but I continue to lose data. I had a total of three minutes of data for a 45 minute swim during my last swim workout. It's aggravating because I purchased the memory belt specifically for swimming. As it turns out, the company doesn't produce these any longer so I may be out of luck, but I thought I'd try anyway.

If any of you own/use this do you or have you experienced this problem?

Thank you for your help.
