    A 650c frame will not fit 700c wheels as far as I'm aware. 650 equipment is now harder to come by - though should still find some Velocity Deep V rims in 650c http://www.velocitywheels.com/default.asp?contentID=583

    Go with 32 spokes (highest drilling available) good hubs and ask the wheel builder for the most suitable spokes and lacing pattern for your weight.

    If the bike is running a Shimano cassette from 8-10 speed this should swap to the new hubs if also Shimano compatible.

    Typical LBS bull$hit - they're trying to sell you a new bike.

    Plenty of 650 stuff on eBay, and there will be until the end of time.

    If your wheels are 'wobbly but strong' , are you riding at a high enough PSI? Do they maybe just need truing? Easy enough to true the MXP14 wheels using the brake blocks as a guide.

    As long as the Scott fits you OK there is no reason to change it (assuming it hasn't been in a crash)

    nope never crashed, I like the wheels i have but i went in to the shop buy a pump since the bike has weird valve stems I've never used before. I still have to buy a pump, but will get a park tool pump on-line now instead of there!

    Honestly, I'm thinking a 650 wheel with the same parts(rims, hubs, spokes) and spoke count should be stronger than a 700c wheel because it will have shorter spokes, and thus less deflection but I'm not positive.
