I am finaly gready to get my tri bike. Thought my mind was made up on a Trek equnox 7.0 For the money, seemed like the best bike for me. Now I find out I can get a Cervello P1 for about the same price. Looking for some advice, The Trek E7is equipped with SRAM vs Cervelo P1 equipped Shimano Ultegra? Any thoughts?

From a quality/pedigree standpoint the P1 is the granddaddy of aluminum tri bikes. Though, I wouldn't be surprised to find that the E7 was actually aerodynamically faster (bladed seatstays, faired headtube, slightly better cable placement).

Ride both and pick the one that fits you better and you like more.

Also, the Trek comes with SRAM Rival components and the Cervelo comes with Shimano Ultegra.

I'm in the process too. I've made my way to the Cannondale Slice 5. Alot of bike for a great price.

the cervello is such a FRED brand you could probably sell it rather quickly if you wanted to move up to a better bike.

Plus you would have to have a road bike to be a Fred. Triguys are in their own category of people who roadies look down upon.

SRAM vs Shimano- no major difference in the TT setup. One might be a little smoother, but either way it will shift well. Try riding them to see what you like better

Sram v. Shimano is a toss up, especially when it comes to bar end shifters.

correctomundo! However,my point is even if it is decided that the trek is a better bike, the cervelo will probably hold its value better for resale. Due to it being more sought after by want-a- bee/ newbie. Thanks for getting me straight on the FRED term, I took the time to look it up on wikipedia.
