Sesamoiditis
been off the bike and out of the lap pool for a few weeks due to vacationing but I have been racking up some running miles. it's been great but a couple days I ago I had some discomfort but ran anyway. so now I have a decent case of Sesamoiditis. the big knuckle below the big toe on my left foot is red; swollen and very tender.
after some research I've determined that it is not broken and should recover well with just rest. I thought I would share this info about this sport injury in case anyone else find themselves with a similar situation. http://www.eorthopod.com/content/sesamoid-problems http://www.ourhealthnetwork.com/cond...samoiditis.asp http://www.podiatrybrooklyn.com/foot...lyn-podiatrist http://www.sloc.org/edfootankle.htm |
