Stupid questions that need answers all the same...
I have got two main questions about triathlon training and racing.
1- When I am training for the run, I have got to take a crap, but when I finally get to a toilet and stop running, the urge to go leaves me. I then continue running and have the same problem. Any advice?
2-When racing, I get out of the water and run into T1, and attempt to put my Cycling Jersey on. However, because I am still dripping wet, it adds about a minute and a half to my time. I think that it would add even more time to quickly dry myself off, but what does everybody else think?

for 1, then either go before, or alter your food intake until that does not happen anymore
For 2, you will have to consult the first rule of transitions:
"Rule #1: Never try to pull anything over a wet body."
If that does not help then consult the second rule
"Rule #2: NEVER TRY TO PULL ANYTHING OVER A WET BODY!!!!!!"
even if that means swimming in a cycling jersey, or buying a tri top. I believe you will find consensus with anyone who races tri's. Unless that race is the Golden Bearathlon (ice in T1 is always a bad sign), in which case yes you should dry yourself off as much as possible. and then don as much clothing as you own.

1. A nervous stomach before a race will usually take care of that.
2. Do you need to wear a cycling jersey? How about wearing a tri top? If you need to wear the jersey, then dry yourself off before you put it on. Dry off while you step into your shoes. You can finish pulling on the jersey as you get your bike.

i always rock a cycling jersey because I am too cheap to buy a tri suit/wetsuit so I do the race in jammers and put on a cycling jersey in T1...
I hang a towel from my bike and towel off really quick then put the shirt on...It tends to stay up in the back, but a few hundred meters into the bike I always seem to be good again. You could also try having it all the way unzipped and step into the middle of the jersey and pull it up over your shoulders...

If you're as vain as I am, you just roll no shirt at all. Tri top is best, as said above, and swimming in your jersey is next best, and toweling off before donning a jersey is a (remarkably slow) alternative...but I rather like finishing with the shirt off.

#1 is a common condition called Runners Trots alot of people have it, its worse than side stints in my opinion.
dont eat anything 2 hours before running, be sure you hydrate 30 minutes before running taking in 8-16oz of water.
As mentioned above before a race is "nerves" but during your training its an over spastic colon.
#2. check out velowear.com they have test samples that they design there more expensive line from, they wear them once, wash them and sell them.
I got my tri-top from them for 15 dollars!

i wear a tight rashguard shirt for the whole race. thinking about getting tritop. pulling on a shirt adds too much time, same for pulling off a wetsuit.

Don't have any experience with number 1 question, but as for number 2, I always wear a tri-top. I've always figured that the less fiddling I have to do during T1, the better. I also wear a wetsuit, but mostly because I'm not a very strong swimmer and I need all the help I can get.

I used to just go to the toilet and do it before training but if this was to happen I think I'd do jumping jacks beside the toilet until I could feel it coming and then sit and do The job.
Dunno if it would work actually...

2 - Before the advent of wetsuits and tri-suits, I used to do this a lot (but only if a top was required by the rules - otherwise I went topless). Before the race, put the jersey on and then roll it up to take it off. When you get into T1 during the race, get your head and arms through and then take off on the bike. Roll down the jersey once you are up to speed and not surrounded by too many other riders. Practice this before race-day.

I'm confused. It sounds like problem number 1 is a problem with number 2.
