Registring to my first Ironman
On the 20th of August,I will register to my first Ironman in Mont Tremblant, Quebec, Canada.
I ran 2 marathons, did 7 years of bike racing, raced more than 50 duathlons and won gold medal on about 25 of them.
I have never did a triathlon but I ill swim all winter with a swimmin team, will I drawn on my ironman?

Of cause you won't drawn, if you swim in a wetsuit the swimming leg will pretty easy so if you got the endurance to combine all of it you should be fine.

Practice makes perfect. If you swim consistently during the winter with a swim club then with your level of fitness I see no reason why you shouldn't be just fine.

thx for the hints.
I'm starting to swim 3 times a week with the masters during the winter to practice my technique and endurance.
Already started to swim a lot and improved already.
Everybody in my family is just treating me like crazy to register for an Ironman without ever racing a triathlon or a half. But IMO I have all the advantages into racing an Ironman since the quantity of swimming is well underproportionnate to cycling and running compared to a short distance tri

You are not crazy. I have heard of plenty off people who signed up for an IM having not ever complet a triathlon of any length. Granted they usually do a few before their IM. I would suggest the same to you as well. You have plenty of time to prepare your self.
Good luck with Monte Tremblont. O ask considering that one for my next, but that wouldn't be until 2014.
