Anyone ever use the TrainingPeaks.com web site for training? I'm going to sign up for a month to check it out and then may extend it beyond that.

Formerly known as TrainingBible.com

I heard some good feedback when it first came out a few years ago. But, I don't know anyone who has been using it recently.

keep us posted on whether it's worth it, definitely could be useful

i just checked the site out...looks interesting. would be good to get some rigor back into the training program especially as it's going to start getting a little warmer out soon (fingers crossed).

I haven't used it personally, but I know others who have. As well, they seem to have the largest group of coaches that use the site, so if you end up getting a coach they can put your plan right into trainingpeaks and monitor and giev feedback to their athletes.

I believe it is also built/run by Dirk Friel - Joe's son. So I think it's gotta be pretty good. When I get the cash and step up to an Ironman I'll prbably look into them.

I haven't signed up yet but I have looked into it a bit more. Of late I have been burying my nose in every book I can find on triathlon training. I've read Friel's "Triathlete's Training Bible" and "Going Long". I just picked up a Paul Huddle's book which has a 24 week Ironman training plan in it and Gale Bernhardt's "Training Plans for Multiport Athletes" which has training plans for sprint, Olympic, half and full IM triathlons. Right now I think the best approach for me to to go the self-coached route. I have a ton of resources to refer too and I'm picking and choosing bits and pieces from the different books. For Christmas I'm hoping Santa will bring me a years worth of coached training ($1800.00) and a years subscription to trainingpeaks ($120). I guess I'd better start behaving :)
