Any members from Birmingham UK please read

Hi there all of you who have bothered to read this.

I have been away from cycling for a few years and am looking to get back into it, ime premitting with a new house to sort out etc.

I'm hoping to find some nice people to ride with occassionally and perhaps even get my daughter and girlfriend to join in on safer quieter roads.

I guess to start with the rides would be shortish til I get my cycking legs and bum back and they get thiers for the first time. I want them to feel as good as I used to when I got home from a Sunday ride with my mates.

So if there is anyone out there looking for some company etc please let me know.

Where abouts in Brum are you? I live just over the border in Staffordshire, and round here there are some nice family friendly trails on Cannock Chase, you can even get the train out there as well

Lazy day rides etc

Hi
Thanks for the reply.

I used to know Cannock Chase very well. Used to mountain bike nearly every weekend over there.

I live in Handsworth I used to live Sutton Coldfield when I was single and getting out into the lanes wasn't to much trouble.

Nowdays its very busy with traffic here as we're not far from the M5 M6 junction.

It nicer to ride along the cannals than mix it up with lots of really crap drivers. Round here they all drive like ****.

Anyway I can always take the girls to Sutton Park once the better weather comes back.

Hi Marinrider, how you getting on? I just joined the forum and saw your post. I'm in B'ham - Erdington. I ride with the N. B'ham CTC and we meet most Saturdays at Sutton Park. There can be as many as 40 where we split into groups of about 10. Slow to fast groups. I just got back to cycling last March. I'm new to B'ham but the club rides everwhere. Ridden thru Cannock chase, around Litchfield, Tamworth... we mainly go N, E, and SE. It's a great club and a good way to get to know the lanes then you find your way to go on your own. Here's the website. Check out the runs list (on the left)
