The Defeat of Ken Livingston
I was wondering what effect the defeat of Ken Livingston will have on the transport situation in London. As Mr. Livingston was a strong proponent of taking steps to reduce motorcar traffic in the city, I was sorry to see him go. Where does the new mayor, Boris Johnson, stand on carbon/congestion taxes and other green issues? Any light you London cyclists or other observers can shed on this would be greatly appreciated.

Seeing as he's a cyclist himself(and has been for a few years) hopefully he should be quite good for us. but seeing as he's a politician i trust him about as far as I can throw him. Should be an interesting Mayor though-the man's a wee bitty mental.

Mental as a fox. As much as I loathed Ken the person, Boris will probably be a disaster.

People will follow Boris anywhere ....... (mainly out of a sense of morbid curiosity!)
So long as he brings Le Tour back again as Red Ken was keen to.

Boris is great value. Few people make me laugh as hard as he does. Of course, that may not necessarily be the most attractive attribute in a politician, but hey, I don't live in London, so it's all that matters to me.
