Clouted By A Cyclist

I was walking on the Canal Towpath after visiting Walton Hall Gardens at Stockton Heath near Warrington.

My partner who was a few paces behind me called out to me and as I turned round this cyclist came up right close to me on my left and side and caught me on my elbow.

He was trying to get past me and hadnt called out excuse me or rung a bell or anything and I had no idea he was there or his two companions.

He was very apologetic but he could have caused a worse accident and I said to him, perhaps calling out Passing Left Or Right might have been more helpful!

Education obviously still needed for cyclists when passing pedestrians especially on narrow canal paths or anywhere else.

Luckily no harm done.
