Dawes - when did they stop being made in the UK?

About to purchase one from the 80's and hoping it was made here, but having my doubts on reflection now.... anyone know?

I may google and post back, but am aware these forums are often faster and more knowledgeable - hive mind the size of a planet or something!

    OK so wikipedia tells me
Resultantly, by the mid-1980s, the firm had 50 staff at its dilapidated Tysley factory
which means, I hope, that my prospective purchase is indeed UK born, but it is not exactly conclusive nor answers my question, comments welcome... Esp if any of those workers might chance to be forum members?

Riding; Ridgeback Voyage 2011 called "Voyager"
Roading; Dawes Giro 500 (90's) called "DG"
Tandemming; '95 'dale Los Dos / MT2000 (iridescent grape!) called "Derek"!

It seems wikipedia can be wrong! A veteran seller of old bikes and parts down at a bike "jumble sale" here tells me they were still being "knocked out" here in the UK right to the end of the nineties.

Perhaps I'll get around to logging in and editing Wikipedia sometime, but that could get complicated! I'm going to trust in the decal on my 90's bike though, which declares "British built"
