No luck but plenty of nails!
So I was all pumped to ride to the farmer's market in town today, got all set and started riding. All went well until about a mile in when I ran over the worst nail. I was looking for glass/sharp objects but didn't see this one. Super annoying because I just bought those tires/tubes yesterday!
On the plus side, I made it to the farmers market eventually, and got to stop into the LBS and have them order me a more durable tire. No more cheap tires for me, at least not for my commuter.

I bit the bullet and sprang for tire liners. $22/pair. seems stiff, but I got a whole buncha goathead holes in my thorn resistants all a once.
