easy DIY backpack pannier

i guess i'm cross posting this in a few forums, i hope no one minds.

i just made this instructable for making a backpack mountable on your bike. thought i'd post a link. I just made mine a couple days ago and it's been working great so far.

looks pretty good.

It seems our family collects back packs and I never thought of using them as panneirs before.

I could wear one and have 2 more on the bike. That's a lot of carrying capacity.

I am not ready to dive into a sewing project right now, but it has inspired me to do some experiments with a bungee cord. Thank you!

I used a bungee cord to hold my backpack like a pannier. It wasn't very pretty, but it worked. So thank you, I would not have thought to try had it not been for this thread.

AllenG modified a bag to make it work as a pannier a while back.
