I noticed the stickied thread "The post your bike move/bike haul thread" tends to focus on moving large objects. This thread is for any object whether it is small or big. It will give a feel for everyone's day to day bike use.

Today I checked out 2 dvds from the library it easily fit on the rear rack.

Today using the rear rack I carried home...
Weighted Jump Rope
Two pairs of running shorts
2 new shirts
bag full of baked and ranch style beans(8 cans)
Some bread and hot dog buns
New cheap floor pump

thats it that I recall. for now on I am keeping the panniers handy cause it was a pain figuring out how to hangs things on the rear rack. Thank god for bungees.

Last week I checked out 2 DVDs and threw them in my Xtracycle Free Radical. I haven't seen them since.

Since the Xtracycle is my pickup truck (I manage greenhouses and citrus orchards for a local university), I normally carry a small hoe (I know...go ahead, joke all you want), a small rake, backpack with laptop, various tools for irrigation system repair, spare parts, lunch, extra water, and today, I'll be picking up 3 or 4 small bags of groceries on the way home.

Everything fits neatly in the Free Radical bags, and nothing on the snap deck. That's a pretty typical day. My real pickup sits in the driveway looking pretty.

Today I used my single speed. Other than myself I carried my laptop in a messenger bag.

just a half-pannier's worth of groceries today I think. (big cans of menudo)

Didn't ride today (boy drama last night, no sleep, no energy), but yesterday I carried a notebook, lunch, change of clothes, dayplanner, a DVD for a class, and a crochet project to school :)

I did my grocery shopping (using a trailer) - 75lbs, of which 10lbs was for the squirrels.

On a daily commuting basis I carry two Arkel panniers - usual contents (tools, lock, pump, rain gear, lights ...). Yesterday I took to work a 3lb bag of peanuts in the shell, and returned with a half-broken cell phone I found on the road. E.T. did not phone home, so I salvaged it for electrical parts.

The End.

Today I found the 1960s record player in the trash. It is around 20lbs I set it on my handlebars and rode home.

I attached the Trail-A-Bike and took my daughter to her school's carnival. That's about a 75 pound daughter and 25 pound Trail-A-Bike. Nice one hour ride, mostly uphill. My wife joined us in about an hour, found the last parking space at the school, consequently thanked me for not driving. Afterwards, we put the bike in the station wagon, went to see the Reduced Shakespeare Company, and out to dinner. Without the Trail-A-Bike, the logistics would have been impossible.

Yesterday I took my Raleigh out because I wanted a more relaxed and upright ride. I went to the jewellery supply shop for wire and beads, another bead shop for seed beads and some needles small enough to fit through the seed beads, then to MEC where the budget kind of fell apart completely :D

(I bought new panniers, new helmet, lots of lights, brake pads, a chain cleaner gadget, and a cycle computer. Yay! Still need fenders for touring bike, 2 new sets pedals, and front racks for both bikes).

I think my total distance was about 20 km, maybe a tad over. I had meant to do another errand leg in the morning, but I had an ADD kind of morning and ended up without enough time to bike or bus it before my appointment. I took the car and wasted $3 on parking :mad: Stupid cars :lol:

Day before yesterday I towed my two kids in the trailer and my wife on the snapdeck of the BD over to an ice cream shop and back and the same setup plus groceries the day before.

Today I picked up a friend and rode to lunch together with him on the snapdeck.

First grocery haul on the dummy! Trader Joe's being too close not to walk to, first run was Costco. So much fun. This bike makes me wanna do more shopping at whole foods, just cause it's far enough away to make a nice ride.

Not a huge haul for costco or the capacity of the bike, but I'm still figuring how best to pack things.

3 bags of concrete mix on my bike-to-work trailer behind my recumbent. Good thing I have an Ecospeed assist on it, those steep hills would have made me sweat.

On Friday I rode my bike to the place I skateboard at. Yes, I usually just clip the skateboard to my backpack and go.

Think of the mexican version of tripe soup( tripe = the stomach lining of a cow)Try not to retch.I hate tripe soup and menudo, the texture gets me.

I usually carry laundry to the two flat 5 miles away and have picked up groceries.( I have a basket on the left side of my Panasonic 10 spd mounted to a rack)I carried home a window fan on the handlebars and on another day grabbed a lamp being discarded it was about 5 feet tall so I carried it like a lance.

Today was mother's day so I skipped my usual Sunday morning ride with my buddies (sometimes mtb, sometimes road, spinning class in the winter) to take care of errands and just hang out with my wife and kids.

I'm an early riser so started with a small grocery haul on my Big Dummy. Just wanted to get stuff for breakfast.

I ran over to my local home-DIY looking for a new propane tank for the BBQ. One of them was sold out, the other had too many people so decided to come back later.

Later ran to the grocery store to pick up more stuff since I had my parents and my in-laws coming over for supper. Needed to get mineral water and juice. The bag was crazy heavy but not a problem using the wide-loader. Also had my 4-year old riding stoker on the Big Dummy. My 7-year old was riding alongside of us.

When I got home remembered that I had to get the BBQ propane tank. However my daughters' friends were over and each wanted a turn on the Big Dummy.

Headed back to the home-DIY and picked up the propane tank. No problem, just strap it to the wide-loader.

Got home and realized I was out of matches (the BBQ's ignitor died long ago). Back to the market for a pack of matches.

Later that night I took the Big Dummy out and gave rides to my brothers-in-law and my sister-in-law. Everyone loved the bike.

It was a good day.

We used The Thing (see separate thread) as support vehicle for a unicycle trip around White Rock Lake. Took two 20" unicycles, drinks, bike tool kit, pumps, and off we went- taking turns unicycling and riding the trike. Worked pretty good. Got smoked by lots and lots of roadies, though. Saw 3 or 4 recumbents, including one hand bike, two different tandems.

Today I hitched up my trailer and went to Fred Meyer to purchase a new window exhaust fan (it's supposed to hit the upper 80's Fahrenheit later this week and the old one died last summer), paper towels, a case of almond milk, and other provisions. I also stopped at my favorite secondhand store where I totally scored on an old hand mixer which will continue to stand the test of time. There's a little rust on the handle, but nothing a little Simichrome can't fix. The beaters are stainless. :)

Yesterday I had:

Half gallon of milk
big tub of yogurt
bag of sauerkraut
hot dogs
buns

Crazy week...haven't been keeping up with all the little trips I've taken with the Goat...Good posts here, all! And Santiago: I don't think I've ever seen a nicer design for a propane tank.

Biked around town after work, had dinner on a restaurant's patio, and made a grocery run on the way home. Mostly heavy stuff: water, cat litter (x 2), ice cream...
