damn, people need to stop posting these purty pictures. I'm getting more and more envious that I didn't get my order in in time. Now I need to wait til the end of summer.

Very nice.:thumb: I am starting to wish for a Big Dummy now, and I have more than enough bikes.

My Xtra is really showing its wear.

I have to admit I opened this thread expecting to see a Big Dummy with a Free Radical on the back

Nice bike, show us some more angles of that beauty. I know nothing about powder coating, do you have to have special equipment and ovens, or can you powder coat from a spray can?

You need to get powder coating professionally done.

Here are some pics of Josh's BD.

Yep...I believe my comments at J's Flickr site said something about a bar, and it being raised higher.

Might have thrown out an "I'm not worthy" too.

Great idea, Monkeykun...and great execution of it, too!

I am happy to say that Josh's Dummy is coming to it's new home tomorrow...my home. :D

I am stoked.

Congrats. I have been seeing on CL and it was tempting.

That powder coating is sweet. I need to get my stoker stem for the little nerds first.

powder coating requires special equipment. The parts to be coated are cleaned (either by media blasting or chemical dipping, or both), then grounded. A special gun puts a positive charge on the powder media, which causes it to stick to the negatively charged parts. Then the whole thing is baked in an oven for a bit.

It's possible to do this at home, but the "stick it in the oven for 10 minutes" makes it impractical for things the size of a bike frame.

At the new home with parts already swapped....

shorter thomson stem, loose the spacers, mary bar, ruffian grips and (soon) paul thumbies.

thomsom post and a saddle like the rest of my bikes.

a quick post to CL and I found a nice stoker stem for $25, add old mtb bar and the kids are set.

kids love the dummy (especially the name)...

Greg,
Good catch on the stoker bar. I missed winning one on Ebay the other day and I was bummed.

Stax 04-12-10 11:13 PM

sweet ride!
