    Xtracycle 26" vs 700c

I am looking to convert my 700c commuter into an X with a freeradical kit. What I'm wondering is if a FreeRad 26" kit fits the same. I'll have to get a heavier duty wheel in either case and I think a Mountain wheel with slicks in the summer and spikes in the winter would serve better than a 700c. Am I wrong in this? I have an eccentric BB so the angle changes can be compensated for.

It might work. I like having bigger diameter wheel/tires for commuting, and there are strong rims available with the increasing popularity of 29er mountain biking, so what about running a Kris Holm 700C/29er rim with Schwalbe Big Apple 29er in the rear (w/ the 700c kit)?
Nokian makes a 29er studded tire that could serve for winter duties...

The Xtracycle platform can only support tires up to 37c. 700c Big Apples definitely won't fit.
