Was looking at the little rack on my wife's step thru framed 1962 Schwinn last night thinking it would haul a 12 pack quite nicely. But alas, we are broke so no beer runs for now. I say something and she will come home with a bottle of wine or a 6 pack one of these days.

On the two most recent Sundays, I sang in concerts. I put my tux in a garment bag and rolled it up. The first Sunday, I lashed it to my rack. The second Sunday, I shoved it in a pannier. High quality lightweight wool doesn't wrinkle readily, and I didn't look like a mess at all.

I'm having a lot of fun with panniers and a rack on the front. I should have done this sooner. I thought it would make steering floppy or handling difficult. It doesn't. It feels easier than pedaling with weight on the back. The major downside is the propensity to catch crosswinds.
I have made this longer than usual because I have not had time to make it shorter. --Blaise Pascal

I have been working a lot of mobile events of late so have set up the Burley as my mobile shop... if I have to work in some far reaches of the city I take the bikemobile (my car) if cycling does not serve to be a practical means of getting to and from events.

It is usually an issue of time management and not the distances that puts me in the car... I much prefer cycling.

I just bought a Yuba Mundo last week. My first big load was 9 gallons of water. Wobbly when I first took off but quickly adjusted and the ride home was a breeze.

Today was the farmer's market in the west end which is a 30 minute ride out.

All those tools and supplies are heavy... with the trailer it must be pushing 70 pounds but Forrest hauls things really well and I stayed in the big ring all day.

Sixty Fiver, I like the fact that you are a bike mechanic who uses his bike to transport the required tools and equipment.

I was talking to people yesterday and they were amazed I rode from my shop to the event... I told them that even with the trailer the difference between driving and cycling the 20 km was less than 10 minutes of travel time and I also did two mobile service calls yesterday.

The next two events are downtown and as I live centrally these are only a few km away... this is good as the legs could use a rest, yesterday was a 50 km day.

I took an old TV on my trailer to a recycling center. I mostly read LCF, but UC is worth a look, since I haul 50-100 pounds several times a week.

Took about a 10 km ride to work with a couple hundred pounds of flesh, textbooks, binder, computer etc. will probably hit the liquor store for a case of beer, and then pick up some donair on the way home. This will add about another 7-8 km to the trip home, but no climb. I unfortunately gotta climb about 150 ft right outta the driveway to go anywhere.

Today I made my first real "Costco run" with my trailer. I would define it a complete success. I hauled a couple of weeks worth of groceries up through my hilly area, roughly ten kilometers round-trip. My cheap trailer was perfectly fine. I just need a 12V car horn to deal with rude motorists and brainless SUV drivers.
