Safe to order from CETMA?

I've heard that although CETMA makes quality racks; there have been several reports of people who ordered and it took much longer than stated to get their racks. Does anyone know if this has changed recently. I'm considering purchasing one and wondered if anyone can tell me how long I should expect to wait for a powdercoated 5 rail?

According to the blog on the CETMA site, his father committed suicide in June. The funeral was in July. He appears to be caught up and back on track. Maybe you should contact Lane directly and find out?

Based on what I read, people who had ordered were being told "it's about to ship, it's about to ship" for weeks. I was hoping to get an answer from someone who has actually ordered recently to avoid this.

i just ordered a 7 rail last night. Lane is a very nice guy it seems. I asked about turnaround time and he said about four weeks, possibly quicker. I guess I'll let you know. He also mentioned, as he does on the web site, that if it is really a press for time he can get it out sooner. Personally, my drawers are not in that much of a bunch about it. I don't feel like bumping someone to get my stuff first.

Give him a call. He made time to talk to me and answer questions for me. Personable guy especially how busy he is and all else he must have going on. VERY MUCH looking forward to getting ma rack! Likely around my birthday so that is even better!

Cool. Sounds like things must be back to normal over there. I'm not in a huge rush I just didn't want to pay up front if I wouldn't receive my rack until the middle of winter. Thanks.

If you can pay with a credit card get the delivery time in writing by email. That way you have 75 days [check your CC card details to be sure of your window] to dispute the charges and get your $$ back if he doesn't deliver.

I think that's a reasonable way to protect yourself. It seems like what happened was the result of a singularly awful time in the guy's life, and I understand that. But until things have been back on track a while, it's sensible to be a little careful.
