    Bamboo Cargo Bikes

Man, I love innovation. I am sure lots of people will come on and mention why this sucks compared to their Big Dummy or what have you, but I think it is just awesome taht someone is thinking outside the box on this. Bamboosero is making Bamboo bikes, and they now are selling a cargo version.

They have details on the company at this site as well--it was started by Craig Calfee.

Bamboo has a lot of great properties, BUT I have seen seen bamboo shatter when put under stress in the wrong direction, similar to carbon fiber.

Haven't you built some bamboo bikes? Was it one of yours that shattered? Post pics.

Nope not me, I am a steel is real guy. But I have seen and used bamboo as scaffold and structural building materials during mission trips to Central America.

I believe the guy that built his own bamboo frames was Alan from GA, and I know he had structural failure of some sort.
