    Trek "Dog Food" Transport

So, I've pretty much settled on the Trek Transport (non-electric assist) for my next bike as I am getting more and more car-free. I probably will be ordering it and setting it up sometime this next summer. Today, I needed to use a car to go get a 50 pound bag of Dog Food for our two pooches - I was happily thinking "You know, this summer I will actually be able to do this on my bike . . ."

Twenty five pound bag. Grocery bag panniers give me the necessary surface area. I don't know that I'd want to try 50 lbs this way.

This is one of my favorite utility rides - to get dog food! We pick up 35 or 55 lbs at a time, depending on whether we need big only or big and small dog food.

The photo below is when we had more dogs, so that run was 90-lbs worth.

    I've got my priorities.

That dog is Candy, my overweight yellow lab. Sandy, the spastic mutt was out of frame.

Sorry for the really crappy cell phone pic, but this is a $200 grocery shopping trip with my converted Burley trailer:
