    OOOOOOO, new panniers, with pics!

    www.axiomgear.com

i had a pair of 10 year old sunlites that finally couldn't go no mo'. these are better in two major respects- NO zippers. just drawstrings, buckles, and one velcro closure on the small pocket, plus a nice lock-to-the-rack arrangement. ~30% larger, too.

these are axiom seymour dlx 30, bought as a pair.

    weight: 2.5lbs/1124g per pair
    capacity: 1830 c.i./30liter per pair

    •600D water-resistant polyester – sewn construction
•Rixen & KaulŪ Vario adjustable hooks fit 6mm-20mm racks (Preset to 10mm)
    •Replaceable Rixen & KaulŪ Flip-Lock
•Tiedown adjustable hook & bungee system
    •Rear LED light mount
    •Suitable for rear use

    seller's ebay name is fegr.

$57 + free 2 day ship on ebay (purchase, not auction).
well packed (one nested inside the other, so don't think you got just one bag), got it in 2 days , product as advertised.

I'm considering getting these or something close to this line. How are they holding up for you so far?

they're fine. advertised as water resistant and even with harder rain they only got some moisture in 'em.
i got some spray on water repellant and hosed 'em good in several layers. they have a weather flap inside
with a drawstring and the outer flaps have stretchy stuff to keep tension on the buckles. just in case, i have a couple of small hefty trash bags to wrap my schoolbooks in.

been grocery shopping and really stuffed 'em to the top of the inner flap. i love the extra capacity, but not the weight. kinda like backpacks or suitcases- you tend to fill them.

they're not theft proof so i have a bike cable i fed through the carry straps and through the frame and rack. a casual look by a perp might discourade them.
they do have a swivel lock to prevent them from bouncing off and the hooks are semi locking. the bungees on the backside are really thick and taut. between them all there's no room for bouncing.

been to canyon lake sailing a few times. very nice place.
