When I first started cyling, I started out riding an old Huffy MTB....................



I rode the heck out of this bike for about a month until I upgraded to a better bike. I rode this bike to scenic locations.................







I upgraded a few things like the seat and pedals and added lighting to it................





I even gave my little dog bicycle rides on this epic machine...................





Soon I got hooked on bikes and after beginner's luck, I upgraded to a better bike. The old, trusty Huffy then sat in the garage for about a month collecting dust. This bike deserved to be ridden so I came up with a plan! I drug it out of the garage and decided to take it to work.



I work at a car and truck garage and we have a huge shop and a couple acres of land for truck and trailer parking. Quite often we have to run up to the hill to check on inspections and service on these trucks and trailers and it's a long walk. Other times we need to go from one side of the shop to the other for different reasons and this can be a pain. This old Huffy has been quite handy the last few days and it's always fun! Even the other techs have jumped on the bike to get stuff done..............

Good thinking and good use of available equipment. I used to work for a computer company with a single story, but wide campus. They put Razor brand scooters at various stations to get around faster. It worked.

Great idea! Alot of folks rode bikes including old coaster brakers with big front baskets, all over the Sparrows Point, MD shipyard before it closed. Some 'management' occasionally took to pedaling in the summer. Welded up racks all over the site and never a bike stolen. Even more bikes in pictures from back in the 40s when they built Liberty and Victory ships. All gone now.

I work at several industrial sites, many still allow bikes, usually single speed Worksman type bikes. I was in one plant for 2.5 years and had my own bike. I bought a WM Huffy cruiser, had to lock it up to keep it from getting "borrowed" because it was pretty flashy compared to some of the long term old bikes that were there. Great way to get around and usually quicker than using a truck.

When I had my bike shop, I used to service a fleet of Worksman trikes for a local drywall manufacturing plant. I also sold them two or three new trikes.
Those things got lots of abuse. They would throw machinery parts on them that were too heavy to lift on by hand with an overhead crane, and then throw a box of tools on board and boogie to the other side of the plant.
BTW, any objection if I grab that photo of the bike in front of that W900 for the truckers with bicycles facebook page?

We have maybe 20 Worksman trikes, in project condition, at the local co op. From a Ford plant, solid rubber tires, many with customized boxes. Pretty cool.
