bike wanted in Vancouver for Great Divide

Hello bike enthusiasts!

I am planning to bike the Great Divide of the Rocky Mountains this summer starting in July. (https://www.adventurecycling.org/routes/greatdivide.cfm)

I will fly in to Vancoouver and will still have to organize some equipment for the trip. Ive already done a couple trips in Europe so I (hope I;-) know what I am doing.

Especially I need a mountain bike - durable and reliant for this kind of trip. I will travel with panniers on the back.

Does anyone have any advice on this?
- what kind of bike to buy in Vancouver?
- recommendations of bike shops?
- anyone selling a bike which workds for that trip? I really depend on good condition
- any other tipps?

For example I have the specialized Rockhopper (or Hardrock) in mind, since it is a good MTB which can also be used for touring. Price range is up to 1000 CAD

Thanks for your help!

cheers ben

You could try Sports Junkies - they have 2 stores and carry a mix of new and used bicycles.

Otherwise, for this type of cycling, you could try any of the following stores:
Bike Doctor
Deep Cove Cycles
Bicycle Sports Pacific
Mighty Riders
Jubilee Cycles
John Henry the Bicycle Man

I've dealt with each of these stores and they are all good.
