Anyone used Skytrain Bicycle Lockers?

Just wondering if anyone had any experience with these Skytrain stn lockers. They look pretty sturdy and the bicycle is not exposed to thieving eyes unlike the regular bike racks. Anyone tried it?

I was actually going to ask the same thing.
Lived and biked here now for only 5 months and was not sure if they were as sturdy as they look. To be honest, i don't think i have even seen one open or anyone putting a bike into or out of one. I wonder if that should tell us something?

always been hesitant about those lockers and in general locking the bike at skytrain stations. we spend typically only a few minutes at the stations, rushing on and off the trains, to be totally aware of how safe or secure those lockers might be. the ones who are looking at stealing our bikes are there all day and can spend as much time as they like figuring out how to get at whatever we lock away. the percentages are with the one looking to steal your bike that sooner or later they will get what they are after.

I went on Translink's site and seems like certain stn lockers by d/t Vancouver are all reserved. So there certainly are people using it. Also according to the website, upon registering with Translink, they will assign you a locker and send you a key. So it's their in-built locks.

I've tried using one, but there always seems to be a homeless person occupying the space.

I've never heard of anyone having their bike stolen from one.

I got one starting June. I've used it a couple of times so far. The rate is $30 for 3 months. There's also a deposit for the key (another $30). There is also an annual rate for $100, I think.
Also, if the Translink website says all the lockers are spoken for at a site, that might not be the case. Deal directly with C-Media. They told me of a location that had a spot open even though the Translink site said otherwise.
I have not come across of any theft with these kinds of bike lockers. I like that my bike is out of sight, secure from vandalism and being banged by other bikes on the racks. Well worth it, so far.
