Road group rides and commuting in Nanaimo?
Hey all,
We are Canadian citizens currently living in the United States, but we are contemplating moving back to Canada- and Naniamo in particular. I was wondering if anyone from the area can comment on how bike commuting friendly the area is? I was also wondering how many road group rides exist in the area?
Thanks,
Brad

Hi Brad, well I don't now when you were here last, but the commuter scene is pretty good....new commuter trail from North end to downtown beside old railway tracks...all paved and wide and safe...some new multi purpose trails through some of the inland side areas to...city is dragging its feet on installing lines for bikes, but doing a fgood job with signs and a new map for cyclists...All buses have bike racks now..NBClub still doing Tuesday night races...Saturday group rides from one of the shops. lots of MTB activity with tons of off road trails...Downhill mtb , xcracing and even cyclecross...Bike polo...I live in Cedar and commute a fair bit, but I can get more info if you need
