shipping a bike on Westjet

So according to their website, 80" total dimensions, and by cargo 90". Either way weight up to 100 pounds. My bike is in Victoria and I would like to bring it back to Winnipeg. Any economical ideas? Thanks for the help.

Slightly off-topic, but whenever I have flown with Westjet, my bike has always been tracked pretty well. So even if I have missed a connection, the bike still shows up. The one time my bike didn't arrive when I did was a flight to NYC. But it was Westjet to Toronto, where everything was fine when I had to offload the bike for customs/security, but then the segment to NYC was thru partner American Eagle, which screwed up and I had to wait until past midnite for the bike to get delivered. But Westjet on its own has pretty reliable baggage tracking.

Should also mention that my bike has S&S couplers (it's been flown on 8 round trips since I bought it in late 2009, so I guess the couplers and box are now paid for). Uncoupled, it fits into a 26x26x10 rolling box (62 linear inches, the max for passenger baggage). In all my travels with the bike, I've probably paid a total of $75 in baggage fees ($25 maybe three times on airlines that charge for the first piece of baggage).

Thank you for getting back to me. I guess I should have mentioned "tandem" bike! That's the problem, silly me!

Ouch! If it's steel, I would see about getting couplers installed if this going to be a regular occurrence.

Cannondale, so it's aluminum. No i don't think it'll be a regular occurance.
Guess I'll call westjet. Surely they can accommodate.

Just to update-Westjet was unexcusably expensive. Due to the fact that I was shipping a tandem, it would have gone volumetric, and the price would have been $300+. UPS, (good thing you're probably sitting down) $1163! FedEx, stupid, moving companies, I checked 3 all with $1000 minimums. So I found a freight company to truck the package from Victoria, BC to Winnipeg, MB for $86. Thank you Day and Ross Trucking!

Wow, glad it worked out. How much to tide to Winnipeg?

It was to take 5 days from BC to MB, BUT, it ended up in Toronto, and they had to truck it back to Winnipeg! All in all it was about 10 days total. No damage, just lost a weekend with it out at the cottage.
