Any Touring Club in Southern Alberta?

I just want to find if there's an existing touring club in Calgary and outlying towns? I haven't done any bike touring yet and I'm interested to know more about pros and cons. I've already started reading reference books and thinking of maybe buying a touring bike now for next year tour. The only long distance I've done so far was riding for 40-50 kms and back using a road bike.

While I don't know of a straight touring club, there are a few clubs which focus on recreational riding. I would check out the Elbow Valley Cycling Club at http://www.elbowvalleycc.org/ . And the Alberta Randonneurs at http://www.albertarandonneurs.com/.

Wow, I think these are very helpful indeed. I'll definitely check them out. Thanks.
