    Mission Bridge

I'm planning my next tour which likely will leave from the Sumas ,Washington State side. Would anyone know if it is allowed to ride a bicycle over the Mission Bridge, and for a short distance on the ( Abbotsford Mission Highway ) ? I plan to take the Lougheed Highway 7 towards the Harrison Hot spring area.

Yes, you are allowed to ride a bike over the "Abby-Mission" Bridge, but must use a sidewalk.

Thanks Fargo Wolf, I looked at the bridge using Google Maps street view, but didn't notice a sidewalk. I'll take another look.

There is a sidewalk on each side of the bridge, having pedaled over the bridge myself. It's just hidden by the guardrails in Google's Streetview.

Out of curiosity, what is your planned route? If you go straight up HWY 11, you'll encounter insane traffic levels (no shoulder for a part of it) and a nasty hill. I can plot out an alternate route if you want.

Fargo Wolf : Thanks very much. I'd be very pleased to hear any suggestions you may have. Ok my planned route is Lougheed Hwy - to Morris Valley Road - Weaver Creek road - various forest service roads to just north of a small airport called Tipella Airport where it looks like I should be able to cross the river to pick up the Lillooet River Road then right onto 99 then 97. My destination is Yellow Knife. A couple of years ago, I did a tour up to Inuvik and loved it once I found a way to live with the bugs.
I'm not sure how possible the route is along Harrison lake, I'm sure I'll get my feet wet crossing a few creeks. Have you ever visited that area ? If there is a lot of rain, my guess is it would be best to take Highway 1 ? Ideas ? Thanks again.

    Hi Northwestrider,
You have chosen to do what I would call a very difficult route in southern BC. The road on the west side of Lake Harrison is all dirt, quite rough and I would guess not particularly well maintained. If you have experience in this kind of route then you might want to try it. The only person I know who has ridden this route is Jeff Kruys of considerable touring fame. Check out his travels through this area in the following link. https://www.crazyguyonabike.com/doc/..._id=11694&v=6p

Norsman : Thanks for the interesting link, my route is not certain , though the above is what I'm considering if the weather is ok. I like CGOAB for the info they provide, such as the bit you pointed out, thanks again.
